BREAKING: Daniel Ricciardo SHARES his thoughts on Liam Lawson After R…read more

Daniel Ricciardo has shared his thoughts on Red Bull Racing’s handling of young driver Liam Lawson, shedding light on the challenges involved. Ricciardo, who was temporarily replaced by Lawson at RB (formerly AlphaTauri) in 2024, has remained supportive of the New Zealander. He also revealed that he was the only driver to congratulate Lawson after he secured a seat with Red Bull for the 2025 season.

Lawson’s promotion to Red Bull Racing, where he partners with Max Verstappen, came after just 11 starts with RB across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. However, he has struggled in the early races of 2025, leading to speculation that Red Bull may already be considering a driver swap. Reports suggest that Yuki Tsunoda could replace Lawson as early as the Japanese Grand Prix due to his underwhelming performance.

Ricciardo’s comments highlight the internal challenges Red Bull faces when managing its driver lineup. The team has a reputation for making quick driver changes, often creating instability. Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has even advised Tsunoda to be cautious about joining Red Bull, warning that the environment is chaotic and could be detrimental to his career.

As the 2025 season unfolds, the situation remains fluid, with Red Bull needing to strike a balance between developing young talent like Lawson and maintaining a competitive team. Ricciardo’s support for Lawson emphasizes the importance of stability and mentorship in helping young drivers thrive in the high-pressure world of Formula 1.
