David Edgar believes new signing…. should start for Rangers against…. in the Scottish Premiership on…

With Rangers finishing their pre-season, Philippe Clement’s team is set to begin their league campaign.

Following Connor Goldson’s departure to Aris Limassol, Propper has been added to the squad but has not yet trained with the team.

Edgar, founder of the Heart and Hand podcast, mentioned on X on Thursday, 1 August, that while typically a new player shouldn’t start without training with the squad, Rangers’ defense has been disorganized during pre-season, so they might as well play Propper.

Rangers’ pre-season results – three losses and a draw – suggest they could struggle against a strong Hearts side.

With John Souttar and Ben Davies likely starting at the back and limited pre-season minutes for Leon Balogun and Clinton Nsiala, Clement might risk starting Propper.

Despite not bonding with his teammates, the 30-year-old Dutchman is seen as a natural leader and some suggest he should be given the captain’s armband.

Propper brings experience from his time with De Graafschap, Heracles, and FC Twente in the Netherlands.
