Lando Norris Triumphs in Thrilling 2025 F1 Monaco Grand Prix
Lando Norris clinched a sensational victory at the 2025 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, holding off fierce late-race pressure from Charles Leclerc to take his second win of the season and McLaren’s first at the iconic street circuit since 2008.
Starting from pole position, Norris delivered a masterclass in precision and composure, fending off local favorite Leclerc in a nail-biting finish. The win marks a major statement for Norris, who now narrows the gap in the championship standings to just three points behind his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri.
Piastri rounded out the podium in third, finishing less than a second behind Leclerc, in what was a tense and closely contested final stint. Despite a new regulation making the race a mandatory two-stop event, overtaking remained at a premium, keeping fans on edge as the top three ran within a second of each other in the closing laps.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen settled for fourth, while Lewis Hamilton made up ground from seventh to secure fifth for Ferrari — the only driver in the top five to gain places.
Rookie standout Isack Hadjar impressed with a career-best sixth for Racing Bulls, followed by Esteban Ocon in seventh for Haas. Liam Lawson added to Racing Bulls’ strong day by finishing eighth and scoring his first points of the season.
Williams teammates Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz completed the top 10, each finishing two laps down but securing valuable points for the Grove-based squad.
Fernando Alonso’s bid for a first points finish in 2025 was dashed by a power unit failure midway through the race, forcing the Aston Martin veteran to retire. Meanwhile, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly crashed out on Lap 9 after a brake failure caused him to collide with teammate Yuki Tsunoda.
