F1 star under FIA investigation over red f….read

Rising Haas Formula 1 driver Ollie Bearman is under investigation by the FIA stewards for a suspected violation of red flag regulations during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. The young British talent is being scrutinized for allegedly overtaking under red flag conditions during the second free practice session (FP2) on Friday.

The incident in question occurred when the session was halted due to a crash involving McLaren’s Oscar Piastri at the Sainte-Devote corner. As per F1’s strict regulations, all drivers are required to slow down significantly and maintain position when a red flag is deployed. However, Bearman is accused of making an overtaking maneuver during this neutralized period, which has prompted the stewards to initiate a formal investigation.

This latest development adds to what is becoming a growing list of red flag-related troubles for Bearman. Just a week earlier, at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, he was penalized in qualifying when his lap time was deleted. Bearman had initially secured a promising P10 in Q1, but that effort was nullified following a red flag caused by fellow driver Franco Colapinto, who recently stepped up into the Formula 1 ranks.

Such incidents are particularly significant in Formula 1, as the FIA places immense importance on safety protocols. Red flags are used to signal dangerous conditions on the track, such as crashes or debris, and overtaking during such times is considered a serious breach. If Bearman is found guilty of the alleged infraction, he could face a range of penalties—ranging from a grid drop to a time penalty or even a reprimand—depending on the severity and the stewards’ final assessment.

Bearman, who is relatively new to the Formula 1 grid, has been turning heads with his potential and performances, but repeated infractions could tarnish his reputation and standing within the paddock. As teams prepare for the all-important qualifying and race sessions in the tight and unforgiving streets of Monte Carlo, any penalty could significantly impact Bearman’s weekend and possibly his season trajectory.

The FIA has yet to announce a formal verdict, but the situation remains under active review by the stewards. Fans and teams alike await the outcome, which could further influence an already unpredictable Monaco Grand Prix.
