F1 street circuit to host CELEBRITY racing event.
A unique celebrity racing event is set to take place at the Miami International Autodrome, a renowned street circuit typically used for Formula 1 races. This event, which is the first of its kind, will feature an exciting lineup of famous personalities, including athletes, actors, and social media influencers, giving them a chance to experience racing on a real F1 track. The event is scheduled for March 5-6, just before the 2025 F1 season kicks off in Melbourne on the weekend of March 14-16.
This innovative event is a prelude to the start of the new F1 season, which promises to bring plenty of excitement, including Lewis Hamilton’s highly anticipated debut with Ferrari. However, fans will be able to get a taste of the action early by watching celebrities take to the Miami circuit, which will host Round 6 of the 2025 F1 campaign. The star-studded lineup includes Brooklyn Beckham, former Manchester City footballer Sergio Aguero, actor Lucien Laviscount from Emily in Paris, tech content creator Cleo Abram, custom car builder Emelia Hartford, and influencer Vinnie Hacker, among others. Some more participants are still yet to be revealed.
The event, named “Evo Sessions,” will take place on a shortened version of the Miami track, where Lando Norris famously secured his first-ever F1 victory. Participants will race for one of the 11 Formula E teams on the grid, with the event offering a fun and thrilling experience for both the celebrities and fans. Leading up to the event, the celebrities will undergo an intensive training program, which includes simulator sessions, physical conditioning, driver coaching, and engineering debriefs to prepare them for the challenge.
Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds explained that the event’s purpose is to engage a different kind of audience, one that is more digitally connected. He emphasized that many of the celebrities involved have large followings on social media, making the event an opportunity to attract new fans to motorsport. The celebrities’ journey from being complete beginners to trying their hand at driving a high-performance car will be documented and shared with their audiences, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become a driver. According to Dodds, this approach aims to provide a more entertaining and relatable experience for fans while also showing how elite professional drivers are compared to the newcomers.
Despite the lighter tone of the event, Dodds noted that the competition would not undermine the skill level of regular drivers. Instead, it would highlight the professionalism and expertise required to race at the top level, offering a deeper appreciation for the abilities of professional drivers. The event is expected to draw a large viewership and expand the sport’s appeal, bringing in fans who may not have previously considered following motorsport.
The Evo Sessions, motorsport is set to attract a whole new audience, blending entertainment and sport in a way that appeals to both seasoned fans and newcomers alike.
