F1 team announce outstanding signing for 2025
The Formula 1 grid has seen a significant announcement for the 2025 season as KICK Sauber unveils a major driver signing.
Following a week of changes, the team confirmed several departures and a fresh addition to its lineup.
In an official statement on Wednesday, Sauber announced that Theo Pourchaire, Zane Maloney, and Carrie Schreiner would leave the team at the end of 2024.
All three drivers have been part of the Sauber Academy.
Schreiner, who competed in the 2024 F1 Academy series, will be replaced by 17-year-old Emma Felbermayr.
Felbermayr is set to take Schreiner’s place as Sauber’s representative in the all-female racing series for the upcoming season.
The young racer will join the team under the Rodin Motorsport operation, making her debut at the 2025 F1 Academy opener in Shanghai, China.
Sauber expressed their enthusiasm in a statement, highlighting Felbermayr as a rising talent.
“We are proud to have Emma representing us in the F1 Academy grid. Her debut at the 2025 season-opener marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for our team,” the statement read.

This is a fantastic chance to advance my career and test myself at this competitive level.
I look forward to representing the team, growing as a driver, and making the most of the platform F1 Academy provides.
I can’t wait to get started and see what we can achieve together.”
Sauber’s COO & CTO, Mattia Binotto, also praised the signing, emphasizing the team’s confidence in Felbermayr’s potential.
“Emma is young but has already demonstrated her talent. We are excited to see her represent us on the global stage starting next year,” he said.
