Ferrari Confirm Key Driver Switch Following Lewis Hamilton’s Suspension…read more

In a dramatic twist ahead of the upcoming Grand Prix weekend, Ferrari has confirmed a major driver lineup change following the suspension of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The decision was announced early Friday morning, sending shockwaves through the Formula 1 paddock.

Hamilton, currently under contract with Ferrari after a high-profile move from Mercedes, has been handed a one-race suspension by the FIA due to multiple infractions during the previous race in Montreal. The penalties, which included dangerous driving and failure to comply with stewards’ directives, triggered an automatic suspension under FIA regulations.

In response, Ferrari has named reserve driver and rising star Oliver Bearman as Hamilton’s temporary replacement. Bearman, who impressed during his previous stand-in performance earlier this season, will now step into the SF-25 cockpit at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix.

Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur stated, “While we regret the circumstances, we have full confidence in Oliver’s abilities. He’s demonstrated remarkable composure and speed in testing and during his prior race appearance. We know he will give his absolute best for the team.”

The news comes at a pivotal moment in the championship, with Ferrari locked in a tight battle with Red Bull and McLaren for both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles. Carlos Sainz will now shoulder additional pressure as the team’s senior driver during Hamilton’s absence.

Hamilton has yet to make a public statement, but sources close to the British driver suggest he may appeal the decision.
