FIA Clears Williams F1 Car Following Routine Inspection Ahead of Monaco Grand Prix

The FIA has announced that Alex Albon’s Williams Formula 1 car has successfully passed a routine inspection carried out after the recent Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, ahead of this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.

Williams impressed in Imola, with Albon finishing fifth after a hard-fought battle with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the closing laps. The strong result marked a double-points finish for the team and continued their upward trajectory in the 2025 season.

As part of standard post-race checks, Albon’s FW47 was selected for inspection. The FIA examined key components, including the front and rear inboard suspension, dampers, sensors, wiring looms, and connections to the Standard Electronic Control Unit (SECU). On Thursday, May 22, the FIA confirmed that all elements were in full compliance with technical regulations.

This confirmation adds to the growing sense of progress at Williams. After seven rounds, the team sits fifth in the constructors’ championship with 51 points—already surpassing their entire points haul from the 2024 season, when they finished ninth with just 17 points amid a year plagued by crashes and parts shortages.

Now boasting a consistent presence in Q3 and even outperforming Ferrari in qualifying—as seen last Saturday—Williams, led by Alex Albon and new teammate Carlos Sainz, arrive in Monaco with both competitive momentum and a clean bill of technical health.
