The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has officially confirmed eight significant changes ahead of the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix. The announcement was made through a formal statement released today, outlining updates designed to enhance race safety, improve track conditions, and optimize the overall experience for teams and fans.

One of the most notable changes involves modifications to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with adjustments to several corners aimed at improving overtaking opportunities. In particular, Turn 10 has undergone a redesign to promote more dynamic racing while maintaining safety standards.

Additionally, improvements have been made to the pit lane and run-off areas, ensuring better safety protocols for both drivers and track marshals. The FIA has also enhanced drainage systems to prevent water accumulation during potential rain-affected sessions.

Changes extend beyond the track itself. The FIA has updated the race weekend schedule, providing teams with additional practice time to adapt to the modified circuit layout. There are also upgraded facilities for media personnel and fans, including improved grandstand access and digital information boards.

In terms of technical regulations, the FIA confirmed stricter monitoring of track limits, with additional sensors being installed to enforce compliance during qualifying and race sessions. Finally, sustainability initiatives have been boosted, with more eco-friendly logistics and waste management systems being introduced at the venue.

The FIA emphasized that these changes are part of a broader strategy to continuously evolve Formula 1 circuits in line with safety, performance, and environmental goals.
