FIA Confirms Fernando Alonso’s Exit Spanish Grand Prix after Co…read more.

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has officially confirmed that Fernando Alonso will miss the upcoming Grand Prix, citing health concerns and advice from medical professionals. The announcement was made in coordination with his team, Aston Martin, and marks the first time the two-time world champion will be absent from a race this season.

According to FIA officials, the decision was made to prioritize Alonso’s well-being after recent health struggles and an increasingly demanding schedule. While the exact nature of the issue has not been disclosed, sources close to the team suggest that Alonso has been experiencing physical discomfort that could affect his performance and safety on track.

Alonso’s 2025 season has already been marked by several setbacks, including mechanical failures and retirements from key races. He retired from the Australian Grand Prix following a crash and was forced to withdraw from the Chinese Grand Prix due to overheating issues in his car. These difficulties have added pressure on both the driver and the team, making this latest development even more disappointing for fans and supporters.

Aston Martin has not yet confirmed who will replace Alonso for the race, but reserve driver Felipe Drugovich is considered the most likely candidate. The Brazilian has previously participated in practice sessions and is familiar with the team’s setup.

Despite the setback, team officials remain optimistic about Alonso’s recovery and future contributions this season. “Fernando is an important part of our team, and his health is our top priority. We look forward to welcoming him back as soon as he is fully fit,” a team spokesperson said.

Fans around the world will certainly miss the veteran driver’s presence on the grid, but the decision highlights the importance of health and safety in modern Formula 1.
