Kimi Raikkonen has been officially disqualified from the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix following a post-race inspection, the FIA has confirmed. The decision came shortly after the conclusion of the race, surprising fans and shaking up the final results.

Raikkonen had originally secured a 7th-place finish but was later found in violation of technical regulations. The FIA revealed that his car failed to meet the required specifications, specifically citing an issue with the floor dimensions under Article 3.15 of the sport’s technical rulebook.

“The car was not in compliance with the required measurements,” the FIA’s statement read. “As a result, it is excluded from the race classification.”

The ruling is a blow for Raikkonen, who had shown strong performance throughout the weekend. His team responded to the disqualification with shock, saying they are reviewing the findings and may explore the option of filing an appeal.

The change has affected the official race standings, moving other drivers up in the points. Fernando Alonso, who originally finished 8th, now moves into 7th position, gaining additional championship points.

This incident serves as a reminder to all teams of the importance of adhering strictly to technical standards. With the Canadian Grand Prix approaching, teams will be under increased pressure to ensure full compliance with all FIA regulations.

Fans and analysts alike are now waiting to see if Raikkonen’s team will contest the decision in the coming days.
