FIA Calls Up Three F1 Teams for Car Display Ahead of Spanish Grand Prix
Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the FIA has selected three Formula 1 teams to take part in the mandatory car presentation and inspection process.
In accordance with Article 19 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, the governing body confirmed that cars driven by Franco Colapinto (Alpine), Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), and Nico Hülkenberg (Sauber) will be displayed in the pit lane before Friday’s opening practice session. This routine procedure is designed to ensure all teams meet regulatory standards and maintain transparency within the sport.
While Red Bull and McLaren were not chosen for this weekend’s inspection, attention turns to the three selected drivers, particularly Hadjar. The Racing Bulls rookie is entering the weekend on a high after a strong points finish last time out, which has propelled him into the top 10 of the drivers’ championship in his debut season.
This weekend also marks the final Spanish Grand Prix held solely in Barcelona, as Madrid prepares to join the calendar from 2026. Although there’s no official decision yet on Barcelona’s future, its current contract runs through the end of 2026, opening the door for both cities to potentially share hosting duties—similar to how Italy alternates between Monza and Imola.
As the European triple-header continues, the championship fight remains intense. Max Verstappen took victory at Imola for Red Bull, while McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed a win in Monaco. Both teams avoided the FIA’s car display selection this time, but they remain at the center of the title battle heading into the Spanish round.
