Hamilton hints at F1 break after horrific Brazilian GP p…read nore

Lewis Hamilton has suggested he might take a break from Formula 1 after a disappointing Brazilian Grand Prix performance. The seven-time world champion had a challenging weekend at Interlagos, struggling with car issues that ultimately left him finishing in a single point-paying position. Despite his efforts, his final position was in jeopardy as both he and Mercedes found themselves under investigation by the FIA after the race.

Hamilton, who is set to leave Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025, is facing a turbulent final season with his long-standing team. While he has enjoyed a few high points, including wins at Silverstone and Spa, the rest of the season has been marked by recurring performance problems. Mercedes’ car has often lagged behind its competitors, making it difficult for Hamilton to keep up. Furthermore, Hamilton has consistently faced tough competition from teammate George Russell, who has frequently outperformed him in qualifying sessions this season.

Reflecting on his struggles in Brazil, Hamilton called it one of the toughest weekends he’s had with Mercedes. He failed to reach Q3 in qualifying and fought throughout the race to secure his single point. After the race, he candidly spoke to Sky Sports, expressing his frustration with Mercedes’ pace and hinting at a potential break from F1, possibly even for a vacation. “We were just slow,” Hamilton said. “It was really, really tough. I wanted to say a big thank you to the guys in the garage because they turned up super early and did a great job throughout the weekend, as did everyone back at the factory.”

Describing the challenging conditions he faced on track, Hamilton likened the car to a “plank of wood,” citing issues with the suspension and the car’s overall stiffness. The bumpy nature of the track made handling especially difficult, as he struggled to maintain grip and power through corners. “It’s like a plank of wood, no suspension; it’s bouncing on the tyres everywhere. I can’t get on the power anywhere—it’s just the worst ride that we’ve ever had, particularly through corners,” he explained. Despite his frustrations, Hamilton remains hopeful that the remaining tracks of the season will be smoother. “Hopefully, we won’t have any more bumpy tracks. I think the last three aren’t so bouncy, so I could happily go and take a holiday.”

Hamilton’s remarks reflect a difficult moment in his career as he navigates the challenges of his final season with Mercedes before transitioning to Ferrari, raising questions about his future involvement in Formula 1.
