Hamilton’s Frustration at Imola Intensifies Amid Grid Penalty C…read more.

Lewis Hamilton’s weekend at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola took another frustrating turn as confusion over grid penalties added to his struggles. The seven-time world champion, who has already expressed disappointment with his car’s performance, found himself caught in the chaos caused by multiple drivers being investigated for impeding during qualifying.

The situation began after several drivers were called in by race stewards over potential infractions, leaving the starting grid in flux for hours. Hamilton, who had qualified in a modest position, was initially hopeful of gaining a few places due to potential penalties for his rivals. However, the stewards’ decisions were delayed, causing uncertainty within the Mercedes garage.

“It’s incredibly frustrating,” Hamilton said in a post-qualifying interview. “You prepare all week, give everything in qualifying, and then you’re left waiting around because of unclear regulations and inconsistent decisions.”

This isn’t the first time Hamilton has voiced concerns over FIA rulings this season. The Imola confusion adds to a growing list of grievances, as the Brit continues to chase his first win since 2021. Mercedes, too, has faced a challenging season with inconsistent pace and limited upgrades compared to rivals like Red Bull and Ferrari.

With grid positions finally confirmed just hours before the race, Hamilton now looks ahead to Sunday’s Grand Prix with determination, hoping for a strong showing despite the setbacks. Fans will be watching closely to see if the veteran can turn frustration into fuel on race day.
