Leeds United have also set their sights on Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe, an England Under-21 international. Rowe, who scored 13 goals last season, has drawn interest not only from Leeds but also from French club Marseille. However, despite Marseille making a formal offer for Rowe last Friday, Norwich rejected the bid. According to The Telegraph, Leeds remains one of the clubs still vying for Rowe’s signature, with the possibility that Marseille might return with an improved offer.
Rowe, who is versatile enough to play in various midfield and attacking roles, was notably absent from Norwich’s squad during their 2-0 defeat against Oxford United on Saturday. The reason for his absence is attributed to him not being in the right frame of mind to play. Following discussions with Norwich’s head coach, Johannes Hoff Thorup, and sporting director, Ben Knapper, it has been decided that Rowe will train with Norwich’s Under-21s for the time being. Consequently, he is not expected to feature in Norwich’s first-team squad for their upcoming League Cup match against Stevenage at Carrow Road on Tuesday.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced suggesting that Leeds United were preparing to make a £15 million bid for Rak-Sakyi. However, a loan deal was considered more likely for the player. Leeds officials reportedly engaged in talks with Rak-Sakyi about a potential move to Elland Road, but it seems that the player had already set his sights on joining Sheffield United.
