Lance Stroll Hit by DOUBLE FIA Penalty at Monaco Grand Prix After Lewis Hamilton C…read more
Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll has been hit with two separate penalties by the FIA following a chaotic sequence of events during the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, including confusion involving Lewis Hamilton.
The first penalty was issued for causing a collision in the early stages of the race, when Stroll made contact with [Driver Name] at [Corner/Sector], leading to minor damage and forcing both cars off the racing line. The stewards deemed Stroll “predominantly at fault” and handed him a 5-second time penalty for the incident.
Moments later, a second penalty was added due to a safety car infringement, where Stroll appeared to overtake Hamilton under yellow flag conditions. The incident caused confusion both on track and in the pit lane, with team radios capturing Aston Martin asking for clarity from race control. After review, the FIA assessed a 10-second time penalty for the infraction.
In total, Stroll received 15 seconds in penalties, dropping him further down the order and eliminating any chance of scoring points in Monaco.
In a brief post-race comment, Stroll said: “It was a messy race. I thought I had the position , but the call came too late. We’ll regroup and aim to bounce back in the next round.”
The double penalty adds to a frustrating weekend for Aston Martin, who have struggled for consistency through the opening rounds of the 2025 season.
The team has not yet confirmed whether they intend to appeal either of the decisions.
