Leclerc Warned About Hamilton’s Strength Ahead of Ferrari Showdown

Williams team principal James Vowles has issued a strong warning to Charles Leclerc regarding his future Ferrari teammate, Lewis Hamilton. According to Vowles, the seven-time world champion will return stronger than ever as he prepares for his highly anticipated switch to Ferrari in 2025.

Vowles, who worked closely with Hamilton at Mercedes for a decade between 2013 and 2022, believes that while the British driver faces a significant challenge against the well-established Leclerc at Ferrari, he will find a way to match his new teammate’s performance.

Many expect Leclerc to have an advantage over Hamilton in qualifying due to his raw speed over a single lap. This strength could give the Monegasque driver a crucial edge on race days by securing better grid positions. However, when it comes to race pace and overall grand prix execution, Hamilton’s experience and strategic intelligence may tip the balance in his favor.

A key factor in their battle will be how quickly Hamilton adapts to his new environment at Ferrari. If the 2025 SF-25 proves to be a competitive car, both drivers could be in contention for the drivers’ championship. Ferrari has shown strong performance in recent years, and if their development continues in the right direction, the Hamilton-Leclerc partnership could be a title-challenging duo.

Vowles emphasized that despite the uncertainties surrounding Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari, his track record suggests that he should never be underestimated.

“You can never write him off,” Vowles told Sky Sports News. “Lewis reinvents himself every winter. He always comes back stronger and finds ways to improve, regardless of who his competition is. If he’s behind, he works to catch up. If he’s ahead, he pushes even further. That’s what makes him a seven-time world champion.”

Hamilton, who has been chasing a record-breaking eighth world championship since his controversial defeat in 2021, now has a fresh opportunity with Ferrari. With the right machinery, the next two seasons could offer him his best shot at surpassing Michael Schumacher’s legendary record.

While success at Ferrari is not guaranteed, Hamilton’s relentless pursuit of improvement and his ability to adapt to new challenges make him a formidable contender. As 2025 approaches, the F1 world eagerly awaits how this new chapter unfolds, with Hamilton determined to prove once again why he is one of the greatest drivers in history.
