Leclerc hopes new engineers will join Ferrari following Hamilton’s…Full Story 👇

Charles Leclerc has expressed mixed feelings as he looks ahead to the future of Ferrari amidst the arrival of Lewis Hamilton and the departure of his current teammate, Carlos Sainz. While Leclerc is sad to see Sainz leave after four seasons with Ferrari, he is optimistic about what Hamilton’s presence could mean for the team. The Monegasque driver believes that the addition of a high-caliber driver like Hamilton could make Ferrari more appealing to top engineering talent, something the team has been actively seeking.

Ferrari has been undergoing a period of change under the leadership of Frederic Vasseur, who took over as team boss in January 2023. Vasseur has made several staffing changes as part of his efforts to rejuvenate the Maranello-based team. Leclerc is hopeful that Hamilton’s arrival will bolster these efforts, potentially attracting highly skilled engineers to the team.

When asked by the Italian branch of Motorsport.com about whether Hamilton’s signing had influenced his outlook on Ferrari’s future, Leclerc responded positively. He emphasized that recruiting a driver of Hamilton’s stature sends a strong message and could serve as a catalyst for the team to bring in talented new personnel. Leclerc sees Hamilton’s presence as a reassuring sign that Ferrari is committed to competing at the highest level.

Regarding Sainz, who will be moving to Williams after his stint with Ferrari, Leclerc expressed his appreciation for the time they spent together as teammates. He praised Sainz as an incredible driver and acknowledged the challenges they overcame as a duo. Leclerc credited Sainz with contributing significantly to the team’s progress during their time together.

As the current season progresses, Leclerc sits third in the World Championship standings with 177 points after 14 Grands Prix. Sainz, despite his upcoming departure, holds fifth place with 162 points, outperforming Hamilton, who has 150 points and two Grand Prix wins this season.

while Leclerc is sad to see Sainz go, he is excited about the potential impact Hamilton’s arrival could have on Ferrari’s future, particularly in attracting top engineering talent. This development, he believes, could be a significant step forward for the team as they strive to improve and compete at the highest level in Formula 1.
