Lewis Hamilton Criticized by Italian Media as Ferrari Woes Deepen

Lewis Hamilton is under intense scrutiny from the Italian press after a string of disappointing performances in his debut season with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion finished sixth at the Spanish Grand Prix, while teammate Charles Leclerc claimed a podium spot — a result that further highlighted Hamilton’s struggles.

Italian media did not hold back, declaring that Hamilton has “hit rock bottom” with Ferrari. His ongoing issues with the SF-25 car and his failure to secure a podium finish so far this season have only intensified the criticism. Hamilton currently sits sixth in the drivers’ standings, 23 points behind Leclerc.

After the Spanish Grand Prix, Hamilton described the race as “terrible” and expressed little confidence that the situation would improve, saying bluntly, “I’m sure they won’t” when asked about the team’s ability to turn things around.

Tensions were further fueled by a frosty radio exchange during the Monaco Grand Prix, where Hamilton questioned why his engineer didn’t speak to him after the race. Although speculation of internal friction followed, Hamilton and the team later dismissed the incident as a simple communication error.

Despite mounting pressure and media backlash, Hamilton remains defiant. He has stated that he uses criticism as motivation and is focused on pushing forward, even as Ferrari struggles to bring the SF-25 up to competitive standards. With the team opting for short-term fixes over major changes, Hamilton’s mission to succeed with the Scuderia continues — though it has proven far more challenging than many expected.
