Lewis Hamilton Shares Positive Update on Roscoe After Pneumonia Scare
Lewis Hamilton has offered a reassuring update on the health of his beloved bulldog, Roscoe, following a recent health scare that left fans concerned.
Ahead of this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, the Ferrari driver confirmed that Roscoe, 12, is recovering well after being diagnosed with pneumonia last month. The illness was initially revealed by Roscoe’s caretaker, Kirstin McMillan, in a concerning social media post.
“Roscoe is doing quite well now,” Hamilton told reporters. “He’s 12 and a half years old, so he’s getting on in age. He had pneumonia, but thankfully he’s fine now.”
Hamilton admitted the scare was emotionally difficult, adding: “Every time I get a message from the lady looking after him, my heart stops for a moment because I’m worried it could be bad news.”
Despite the recent health concerns, Hamilton revealed plans to bring Roscoe to several upcoming races in the 2025 F1 season. These include the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on July 6 and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in September—his first appearance there as a Ferrari driver.
Roscoe, a well-known figure in the paddock with a strong fan following, has been by Hamilton’s side throughout much of his career. The update comes as a relief to many as Hamilton continues his campaign with Ferrari this season.
