BREAKING: Lewis Hamilton Questioned as Ferrari Issues D…read more
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has shed light on how Lewis Hamilton has evolved since their last collaboration, describing the seven-time world champion as “demanding” in his approach. Vasseur’s comments come amid concerns over Ferrari’s growing risk of disqualifications following a tough start to the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this year in pursuit of a record-breaking eighth world title, has faced early struggles with the team. His disqualification from the Chinese Grand Prix alongside teammate Charles Leclerc due to technical infringements has raised further concerns over the team’s aggressive approach to performance limits.
Vasseur Highlights Hamilton’s Evolution
Speaking about Hamilton’s transition to Ferrari, Vasseur acknowledged that the British driver has changed significantly since their time together in junior racing.
“Lewis has always been an incredibly talented driver, but now he is much more demanding,” Vasseur admitted. “He pays attention to every detail and pushes the team to extract the absolute maximum.”
Vasseur suggested that Hamilton’s meticulous approach is both a strength and a challenge, as Ferrari navigates a tightly contested 2025 season where small margins could make the difference.
Ferrari’s Disqualification Concerns
Ferrari’s recent double disqualification in China has sparked fears that similar penalties could occur throughout the season. Vasseur has warned that as teams continue to push the limits of regulations, the risk of disqualifications will only increase.
“In modern F1, every team is operating on the edge,” Vasseur explained. “You have to take risks to stay competitive, but that also increases the chances of technical rule breaches.”
With Ferrari currently struggling in the Constructors’ Championship, sitting in fifth place, Hamilton’s influence on the team could be crucial in their bid to close the gap to McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes. However, as Ferrari continues to push the limits, they must also be wary of avoiding further costly penalties that could derail their title ambitions.
