Lewis Hamilton’s Unseen Ferrari Photo Wish Uncovered
Lewis Hamilton’s official unveiling as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver made waves across social media, but it turns out the iconic photo that introduced him in red didn’t go entirely according to his plan.
Italian media reports have revealed that Hamilton had a different vision for his first Ferrari photo shoot. The image, taken outside Enzo Ferrari’s historic home with a Ferrari F40, became an instant hit online earning millions of likes. However, the F40 featured wasn’t Hamilton’s first choice.
According to Autosprint via Corriere della Sera, Hamilton had requested a black Ferrari F40 for the shoot, hoping to match the car with his outfit and give the moment a more modern, stylish edge. Despite black models of the F40 being available, Ferrari reportedly turned down the idea, opting instead for the classic red version.
Ferrari’s reasoning was rooted in tradition. The building’s signature red accents and the brand’s heritage led the team to choose the more familiar color, symbolizing the start of a new chapter while honoring the past.
The Ferrari F40, produced from 1987 to 1992, is one of the marque’s most iconic vehicles and the last model personally approved by Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988.
Though Hamilton didn’t get his preferred car in the shot, the image still made a massive impact and it’s clear that his Ferrari story is already capturing attention before he even hits the track in red.
