MotoGp Boss confirms CONCRETE talks over Hamilton new team

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is reportedly in talks to become an investor in MotoGP, the premier class of motorcycle racing.

MotoGP, which was recently acquired by Formula 1’s parent company Liberty Media for $4.4 billion, has caught Hamilton’s interest as he explores the idea of owning a team.

KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer revealed that discussions with Hamilton’s management have been “concrete.”

Despite KTM facing severe financial challenges, with liabilities nearing €3 billion, Beirer remains confident about the team’s future, asserting that they will still compete in 2025.

“It’s no secret that Lewis Hamilton is keen on MotoGP and is considering establishing his own team,” Beirer told Speedweek.

He emphasized that the talks with Hamilton have been productive and stressed the close partnership between KTM and Red Bull, which has not been a point of contention in the negotiations.

Beirer explained that Hamilton’s potential involvement would be as an investor rather than a sponsor, a role that comes with greater influence in decision-making.

He views this as an opportunity for strong collaboration, stating, “When capable partners contribute to a major project like this, their input leads to innovative solutions.”

The development could provide a lifeline for KTM amid its financial struggles, ensuring the team’s stability and continued presence in the MotoGP championship.

If the deal materializes, Hamilton’s entry into MotoGP would mark a significant crossover from Formula 1 to motorbike racing and further expand his influence in global motorsport.
