Carlos Sainz Jr. recently expressed his frustration during the Miami Grand Prix after being overtaken by his teammate Alex Albon, despite being assured that Albon would maintain his position. Following the race, an upset Sainz communicated over the radio, stating, “That’s not how I go racing. I don’t care. I’ve lost a lot of confidence here, on everything.”

At 30 years old, Sainz faced a pivotal decision in his career as he looked for a new team. With Lewis Hamilton’s anticipated arrival at Ferrari in 2025, Sainz found himself with limited options, ultimately choosing between Williams, Alpine, and Audi-owned Sauber. His father, Carlos Sainz Sr., a renowned rally driver, publicly encouraged his son to join Audi, especially after his own success in the Dakar Rally with the German manufacturer.

However, the elder Sainz has now expressed support for his son’s choice of Williams, stating, “I think Williams was the right decision.” After a challenging previous season where Williams finished second to last, Sainz Jr. has already made significant strides, achieving a sixth-place qualifying position.
