Ferrari Provides Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Glimpse of Hamilton’s Debut with the Team

Lewis Hamilton’s highly anticipated move from Mercedes to Ferrari has been one of the most discussed transfers in Formula 1 history. As the seven-time world champion embarks on a new chapter with the iconic Italian team, Ferrari has offered fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at Hamilton’s debut, showcasing his first interactions with the Scuderia and his initial laps in their machinery.

Hamilton’s first official appearance as a Ferrari driver took place in January when he traveled to the team’s headquarters in Maranello. His arrival at the Ferrari factory marked the beginning of an exciting journey, not just for the British driver, but also for the passionate Tifosi who eagerly awaited his debut in the team’s signature red. Thousands of fans gathered at the Scuderia’s historic base to witness the moment Hamilton donned the red overalls, symbolizing his transition from the silver arrows of Mercedes to the prancing horse.

During his time in Maranello, Hamilton drove his first laps in a Ferrari F1 car, specifically the SF-23, which was raced by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz during the 2023 season. This initial run, known as a TPC (Testing of Previous Cars), took place at Ferrari’s private Fiorano circuit, located near the Maranello factory. The session allowed Hamilton to familiarize himself with the team’s systems, engineers, and the car’s handling, offering valuable insights as he prepared for the upcoming 2025 season.

Following his Fiorano run, Hamilton’s Ferrari debut continued with a more intensive test session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. This test wasn’t just about getting Hamilton up to speed with Ferrari machinery—it also served an important purpose for Formula 1’s technical development. Hamilton, along with his new teammate Charles Leclerc, participated in a Pirelli tyre testing programme, aimed at evaluating new tyre compounds that the manufacturer is developing for the 2026 season. The two drivers carried out this test in the SF-24, Ferrari’s 2024 challenger, providing crucial feedback to Pirelli as the sport continues to innovate and adapt to future technical regulations.

Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari has sparked immense excitement within the F1 community. His experience, talent, and determination bring high hopes for Ferrari’s future, as the team aims to return to championship-winning form. Fans won’t have to wait long for Hamilton’s next official appearance with Ferrari. On February 18, all 10 Formula 1 teams will gather at the O2 Arena in London for the highly anticipated unveiling of their liveries for the 2025 season. The event, set to draw tens of thousands of fans, will see Ferrari reveal the design of their 2025 car, the SF-25, through a digital render, offering the first glimpse of the machine Hamilton and Leclerc will drive in the upcoming campaign.

As Hamilton settles into his new team, the 2025 season promises to be an exhilarating one, with fans eagerly watching to see if the British champion can bring glory back to Ferrari.
