Horner in RESIGNATION update as Red Bull chief’s RELEASE…read more

Christian Horner, the Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, has firmly dismissed any speculation regarding his resignation, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the team despite a challenging 2024 Formula 1 season. Throughout the year, Red Bull faced a series of hurdles, both on and off the track, yet Horner’s dedication to steering the team forward remains resolute.

The 2024 season commenced with an internal investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct by Horner. This probe concluded with Horner being exonerated of any wrongdoing. Reflecting on this period, Horner stated, “There was a full, lengthy internal process that was completed by an independent [King’s Counsel]. And the grievance that was raised was dismissed. End of. Move on.”

Despite the off-track distractions, Red Bull demonstrated remarkable resilience. Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship with two races remaining, underscoring the team’s competitive spirit. However, the season was not without its challenges. Midway through the year, Red Bull experienced a decline in performance, allowing rivals McLaren and Ferrari to outpace them, ultimately leading to Red Bull relinquishing the Constructors’ Championship title.

Compounding these challenges were significant departures within the team’s leadership. Notably, Adrian Newey, the Chief Technical Officer, transitioned to Aston Martin, and Jonathan Wheatley, the Sporting Director, moved to Sauber. These exits prompted concerns about the team’s future trajectory. Despite these changes, Horner remains optimistic, emphasizing the team’s depth and adaptability. He remarked, “We’re evolving for the future, and I think we’re in good shape for that.”

Addressing rumors about his potential departure, Horner was unequivocal: “I’ve never, ever had that thought cross my mind, to be honest with you.” He highlighted the forthcoming collaboration with Ford on the Red Bull Powertrains project as a particularly exciting endeavor, describing it as “the biggest challenge we’ve taken on in the 20 years that we’ve been in the sport.”

Horner’s steadfast commitment is further evidenced by his recent receipt of a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) honor from King Charles, recognizing his contributions to motorsport. Accompanied by his wife, Geri Horner, the accolade serves as a testament to his enduring influence in the racing world.

As Red Bull Racing prepares for the 2025 season, the team is poised to address the challenges of the previous year. With Horner at the helm, the focus remains on innovation and maintaining competitive performance. The partnership with Ford on the Red Bull Powertrains project is anticipated to be a pivotal element in the team’s strategy moving forward. Horner’s leadership and unwavering dedication are set to guide Red Bull through this new chapter, aiming to reclaim their dominance in the Formula 1 arena.
