Nicolas Kuhn raring for Champions League chance as Celtic star declares ‘THIS is the… Read More 👇

Nicolas Kuhn, a player with experience at top clubs like Ajax, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig, is eager to make his mark in the Champions League with Celtic. Despite not breaking through into the first teams of these European giants, the 24-year-old winger has now found his footing at Parkhead and is excited to showcase his talents on one of football’s biggest stages.

Kuhn, who joined Celtic from Rapid Vienna in January, is looking forward to the Champions League draw, emphasizing that playing in the competition was a key reason for his move to Scotland. His past experiences in the UEFA Youth League with teams like Ajax and Leipzig have prepared him for this moment, and he recalls scoring a memorable goal against FC Porto while playing for Leipzig in the youth competition. Now, Kuhn is eager to step up to the senior level and face Europe’s elite.

Reflecting on his time at Ajax, Kuhn recalls the club’s remarkable 2019 campaign when they reached the Champions League semi-finals under Erik ten Hag. Although he was a young player at the time, the experience of being around top professionals like Marc Overmars and learning from his coach, Michael Reiziger, was invaluable. Ajax’s strong youth system was the perfect environment for his development, and he was recognized as one of Germany’s brightest talents, winning the prestigious Fritz Walter Medal in 2019—a distinction shared by players like Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz.

However, Kuhn’s move to Bayern Munich was challenging, as he found it difficult to break into a star-studded first team. Despite this setback, he is now determined to prove himself at Celtic and earn a spot in the German national team under Julian Nagelsmann. Kuhn has represented Germany at every youth level, often serving as a team leader and captain. Now, his ambition is to play alongside top talents like Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane on the international stage.

Kuhn’s focus is currently on Celtic’s Champions League campaign and their domestic competitions. He made a strong impression in a recent Premiership match against Hibernian, where he scored the opening goal in a 2-0 victory, with veteran teammate James Forrest assisting. Kuhn praised Forrest for his quality and experience, noting how valuable it is to have someone like him around as he continues to settle into life at Celtic.

As Celtic prepares for their upcoming Premier Sports Cup match against Hibs, Kuhn is confident and ready to deliver another strong performance. He acknowledges the importance of maintaining the same energy and intensity that they displayed in their recent league win. However, he also recognizes that a cup tie is a different challenge—a one-off game where anything can happen.

Kuhn’s journey has taken him from being one of Germany’s most promising young players to a key figure at Celtic, where he now has the opportunity to prove his worth on the European stage. His experiences at Ajax, Bayern, and Leipzig have shaped him into the player he is today, and he is determined to make the most of his time at Parkhead. With the Champions League on the horizon, Kuhn is eager to show the world why he was once considered one of Germany’s brightest prospects and to help Celtic achieve success in Europe.
