Red Bull Boss Issues Update on Max Verstappen’s Future A …read more
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has reaffirmed the team’s commitment to Max Verstappen, responding to growing speculation surrounding the reigning world champion’s future with the team.
Rumors have intensified in recent weeks suggesting Verstappen might be considering an exit from Red Bull, amid reported internal tensions and interest from rival teams. However, Horner moved to quash the “noise,” insisting that Verstappen remains central to Red Bull’s long-term plans.
“Max is under contract with us until the end of 2028, and he’s a hugely important part of our team,” Horner told reporters ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. “There’s always going to be noise in Formula 1—especially when a driver is as successful as Max—but we’re focused on the job at hand and continuing our success together.”
The speculation has largely stemmed from Verstappen’s comments about the direction of the sport and recent internal dynamics at Red Bull following senior management changes earlier this year. Despite the rumors, the Dutch driver has remained competitive, leading the drivers’ championship as the 2025 season heads into its European stretch.
“Max knows the environment we have here, and he thrives in it,” Horner added. “We’re fully committed to each other. There’s absolutely no doubt about that on our side.”
Verstappen himself has not issued a direct response to the latest rumors but has previously stated that his priority remains winning races and fighting for championships.
As the speculation continues, Red Bull hopes a strong performance in Monaco will help shift the focus back to on-track performance rather than off-track intrigue.
