Scary scenes: Ferrari Lewis Hamilton involves in brutal accident leaving the star S…read more

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton was involved in a frightening crash during the opening practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix, bringing an early halt to his day and raising concerns ahead of the weekend’s main events.

The seven-time world champion lost control of his Mercedes while navigating the treacherous streets of Monte Carlo, colliding heavily with the barriers at the infamous Swimming Pool chicane. The impact severely damaged the front suspension of his car, and Hamilton was visibly shaken as he exited the cockpit.

Medical staff quickly attended to the British driver, who was later seen walking back to the paddock, fortunately unharmed. Mercedes later confirmed that Hamilton did not suffer any injuries, but the crash has cast a shadow over the team’s preparations for one of the most prestigious races on the calendar.

“It was a heavy hit, but I’m okay,” Hamilton told reporters. “The car just snapped and there was nothing I could do. We’ll regroup and hope to be back stronger tomorrow.”

The Monaco Grand Prix, known for its tight corners and unforgiving layout, has claimed many high-profile incidents in the past. With qualifying crucial in Monaco, Hamilton’s team now faces a race against time to repair his car ahead of Saturday’s session.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff described the incident as “unfortunate but not insurmountable,” praising the swift response from trackside safety crews.

Hamilton, currently chasing his first win of the 2025 season, will hope to bounce back quickly as he continues his final campaign with Mercedes before his move to Ferrari next year.
