Brutal Blow For max  as FIA Slams Red Bull with Devastating Penalty Over  Miami Grand Prix Incident

The FIA has issued a punishing and controversial verdict against Red Bull Racing after concluding their investigation into Max Verstappen’s high-profile clash during the Miami Grand Prix — a decision that could send shockwaves through the title race.

Following a tense on-track moment where Verstappen forced McLaren’s Oscar Piastri off-line during a defensive maneuver, the stewards determined that Verstappen breached key sporting regulations involving dangerous driving and unsportsmanlike conduct. The ruling was swift and unforgiving.

The FIA handed Verstappen a 15-second time penalty, which drops him from a podium position to outside the top five in the official classification. Even more shocking, Red Bull was fined €100,000 for what the FIA described as “a failure to manage driver behavior responsibly” during race-critical moments.

In its official statement, the FIA declared: “The Red Bull Racing team did not take sufficient action to correct the competitive advantage gained by their driver’s aggressive and non-compliant maneuver. Such driving undermines the core principles of safety and sportsmanship.”

Verstappen, visibly stunned by the severity of the ruling, called the penalty “unjust” and claimed he had left enough space during the overtake. “I race hard — that’s who I am. But this? This is politics, not racing,” he said post-race.

Team principal Christian Horner was equally furious. “This is a disgrace. We’ll be appealing immediately. Max did nothing outside of what we’ve seen 100 times before from other drivers,” he told reporters.

The penalty dramatically alters the championship landscape, shrinking Verstappen’s lead and handing momentum to Ferrari and Mercedes as the season heads toward Europe.

FIA’s firm hand has sent a chilling message across the paddock — no matter how dominant the team or driver, no one is above the rules. And for Red Bull, Miami may be remembered as the weekend their unstoppable campaign hit a dangerous speed bump.
