Ferrari unveils 2025 livery of 499P numbers 50 and 51
Ferrari has officially launched its 2025 season in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the unveiling of the new livery for its 499P Le Mans Hypercars. These cars will compete under the Ferrari – AF Corse banner, continuing the legacy of Ferrari’s racing success and prestige. The number 50 and 51 cars will represent Ferrari in the top class, blending the heritage of Ferrari’s iconic 312 PB with modern technology. These cars will carry forward the rich history of Ferrari while evolving their design for the 2025 season.
The 2025 Ferrari 499P livery reveals new, striking design elements that immediately capture attention. While retaining Ferrari’s signature red, which is prominent across the bodywork, the cars now feature a fresh combination with Giallo Modena. This colour scheme is linked to the team’s recent victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and pays homage to Ferrari’s past, especially to the 312 PB, Ferrari’s last Sport Prototype, which raced until 1973. After a 50-year hiatus, Ferrari returned to the top class of endurance racing in 2023. The new design integrates a darker shade of red that reflects the evolution of Ferrari’s colours over the years, adding depth and complexity to the car’s visual appeal. The car also features matte accents, drawing inspiration from Ferrari’s Formula 1 single-seater designs.
The 2025 livery includes a glossy red finish, optimized to stand out in both daylight and nighttime racing conditions. The design continues with the yellow diagonal stripe across the cockpit, a trademark of the 499P, but with a notable change. In 2025, the stripe extends across the side pods instead of being limited to the lower side section. This adjustment emphasizes the car’s dynamic lines, particularly when viewed from above, offering fans a unique and innovative visual experience. The design of the livery enhances the car’s dynamic appearance, which is expected to stand out on the track.
Ferrari will race the 499P in the configuration it introduced during the 2024 season’s fifth round in São Paulo, Brazil. This marked the first update to the car, known as the “joker” package, which included improvements like a redesigned brake cooling duct system and aerodynamic tweaks such as the addition of flicks beneath the front headlights. Over the winter, Ferrari’s engineering team focused on refining this configuration further, improving the car’s performance, reliability, and aerodynamics while staying within the constraints of the regulations. The winter development efforts were not limited to the car itself but extended to enhancing race operations, ensuring that both the car and the team are fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
In the 2025 season, Ferrari will aim to defend its Le Mans title and contend for both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ World Championship titles. The driver lineup remains unchanged from last season, with Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen driving the number 50 car, while Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi will compete in the number 51. The championship will begin in Qatar on February 28, 2025, where Ferrari will debut the 499P in its new
livery.
