First Woman to Hold FIA Super Licence Reveals Progress in Female Representation

In a landmark moment for motorsport, the first woman ever to hold an FIA Super Licence has shared her insights on the growing presence of women in elite racing categories. Speaking at a press conference earlier today, she reflected on the strides made toward greater gender diversity since her historic achievement.

“It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come,” she said. “When I first earned my Super Licence, there were very few women competing at the highest levels. Today, we have talented female drivers across multiple series, and young girls finally have role models they can aspire to.”

The FIA Super Licence is the highest qualification for racing drivers, permitting them to compete in Formula 1. Her success not only shattered barriers but also ignited conversations around gender equality in motorsport. Since then, initiatives like the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission and various development programs have helped nurture a new generation of female racing talent.

Recent statistics show a notable increase in female participation in junior formula categories, as well as expanded visibility of women in leadership, engineering, and team management roles within the sport.

Despite the progress, she emphasized there is still work to be done: “Representation is about more than just numbers — it’s about ensuring that women feel welcome, supported, and empowered at every level.”

As motorsport continues to evolve, her journey remains a powerful symbol of what determination, skill, and opportunity can achieve.
