Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko has addressed growing speculation about a potential return to Formula 1 for four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Rumors have been circulating in recent weeks suggesting that Vettel could make a sensational comeback with Red Bull, the team with which he won his four consecutive titles between 2010 and 2013.
Speaking to the media, Marko acknowledged the ongoing conversations surrounding Vettel but made it clear that, as of now, there are no concrete plans in place. “Sebastian is always in our hearts and part of the Red Bull family,” Marko said. “We are in regular contact, and he is still passionate about motorsport, but there are currently no discussions about a return to racing.”
Vettel, who retired at the end of the 2022 season, has remained close to the paddock, occasionally visiting races and speaking about environmental issues and the future of the sport. His presence and insight have sparked renewed interest among fans, many of whom would welcome his return to the grid.
However, with Red Bull’s current lineup led by reigning world champion Max Verstappen and experienced driver Sergio Pérez, there appears to be little room for changes—at least in the short term.
Still, Marko didn’t rule out future collaboration. “You never know what the future holds,” he added. “Sebastian is a great champion, and we will always have a door open for him, in some capacity.”
The F1 world will undoubtedly continue to watch with interest.
