Red Bull Star FLIPS Upside Down in Horror Crash at Imola ..read more

The Imola Grand Prix took a terrifying turn today as a shocking high-speed crash saw a Red Bull Racing star flip upside down in a dramatic incident during the early stages of the race.

The crash occurred on Lap 9 when the Red Bull car made contact with a rival at the Variante Alta chicane, launching the vehicle airborne before it landed upside down in the gravel. Marshals and medical crews rushed to the scene as red flags were waved to stop the race.

Fortunately, the driver—whose identity has been confirmed as Sergio Perez—emerged from the car unharmed, walking away under his own power to the relief of fans and teams around the world. He was immediately taken to the medical center for precautionary checks and has since been declared fit.

“I’m okay, just shaken,” Perez said afterward. “It all happened so fast. I’m just grateful for the safety systems that protected me. The halo and the strength of the car saved me today.”

Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner expressed relief but also concern. “That was one of the scariest moments we’ve had in a long time. We’re incredibly thankful Checo is safe, and we’ll review everything to understand exactly what went wrong.”

The incident raises further discussion about track safety and aggressive driving standards, especially at circuits like Imola, known for its tight corners and high speeds.

Despite the crash, the race resumed after a 30-minute delay. However, the Red Bull team now faces a major blow to its constructors’ campaign with Perez out of contention.
