Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher have confirmed their attendance at the 2025 Race Of Champions event, which will be held in Australia – at Sydney’s Accor Stadium – from March 7-8.
Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher are set to form a German “super team” for the 2025 Race of Champions (ROC), an international motorsport event that pits drivers from various countries against one another. Scheduled to be held at Sydney’s Accor Stadium from March 7-8, 2025, this year’s ROC will once again see Vettel and Schumacher pair up in the ROC Nations Cup, where teams from different nations compete. The event also features an individual competition, where the “Champion of Champions” title is up for grabs.
Vettel, a four-time Formula 1 world champion, has a strong track record at the Race of Champions. He won the individual ROC title in 2015, when the event took place at London’s Olympic Stadium, and achieved great success alongside Mick’s father, the legendary Michael Schumacher. Together, Vettel and Michael Schumacher won the ROC Nations Cup for Germany six times, forming one of the most dominant duos in the event’s history.
Mick Schumacher, currently following in his father’s racing footsteps, has also performed well in previous ROC events. In 2019, he and Vettel finished second in the ROC Nations Cup in Mexico, narrowly missing out on the top spot. More recently, Mick was the runner-up in the individual competition at the 2023 ROC event in Sweden. As he teams up with Vettel once more, the two will be looking to finally secure a win in the Nations Cup together.
The 2025 Race of Champions will be held a week before the 2025 Formula 1 season kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park, taking place from March 14-16. Vettel expressed his excitement about returning to the event and competing with Mick again. He noted the thrill of racing in Sydney’s former Olympic Stadium, which he expects will make for an exciting venue for this year’s Race of Champions.
