RADICAL Ferrari change revealed for Hamilton debut
Ferrari is set for a major overhaul ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s much-anticipated debut with the team in 2025.
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion will join the Scuderia after enduring three challenging years at Mercedes, during which he managed only two race victories following the 2022 regulation changes.
Frustrated with Mercedes’ lack of pace, the 39-year-old now eyes a record-breaking eighth world title with Ferrari.
Ferrari showed significant improvement in 2024, emerging as strong contenders in the constructors’ championship, battling McLaren until the season’s conclusion.
The team celebrated several race wins, including Charles Leclerc’s triumphs in Monaco and Monza, along with back-to-back victories in the United States and Mexican Grands Prix.
To strengthen their title aspirations, Ferrari’s team principal Fred Vasseur has unveiled plans for a revolutionary redesign of their 2025 car.
Speaking at the team’s end-of-year dinner, Vasseur stated that the new car concept will be a departure from its predecessor, the SF-24, with less than one percent of parts being carried over.
He described it as a completely fresh project aimed at enhancing consistency and competitiveness.
Acknowledging the risks involved, Vasseur expressed cautious optimism, noting that the true performance of the car would only be revealed during pre-season testing in Bahrain.
He admitted the challenge ahead is significant but emphasized Ferrari’s commitment to pushing boundaries in their pursuit of success.
While Vasseur refrained from making bold predictions for 2025, he expressed confidence in the team’s current development project, signaling Ferrari’s determination to return to championship contention and provide Hamilton with a car capable of delivering his elusive eighth title.
