Red Bull Racing has added another young talent to its roster for the upcoming 2025 season, strengthening its depth across multiple motorsport categories. The team, already loaded with impressive talent in Formula 1 and its various junior programs, recently announced that Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov will be joining their driver lineup. This move adds to Red Bull’s extensive collection of drivers and potential future F1 stars.

Known for its proactive approach to nurturing young talent, Red Bull already has an enviable lineup in Formula 1, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the main team and Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson at Visa Cash App RB, Red Bull’s sister team. Beyond F1, Red Bull’s junior program is also robust, with several emerging drivers across various formulas. Notable names include Isack Hadjar and Ayuma Iwasa, both of whom have made strong impressions in Formula 2. Now, with the addition of Tsolov, Red Bull’s pool of future racing talent has expanded even further.

Nikola Tsolov, born in 2006, is one of the more promising young drivers on the European racing circuit. He first broke onto the scene with an impressive debut in single-seater racing in 2022, where he clinched the F4 Spanish Championship in his first season—a promising start for any young driver. The following year, he took a step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he encountered tougher competition. Although the season proved challenging and Tsolov ended the year in 23rd place, he showed resilience and was retained by his team, ART Grand Prix, for the 2024 season.

The 2024 season has seen Tsolov make significant improvements, and he has already secured three race wins—one in a feature race and two in sprint races. These results have positioned him 11th in the current standings, an encouraging performance that likely contributed to Red Bull’s interest in bringing him into their program. Red Bull announced Tsolov’s signing with a social media post on Instagram, expressing their enthusiasm for the young Bulgarian driver joining the Red Bull Junior Team.

In a further update, Red Bull confirmed that Tsolov will remain in Formula 3 for the 2025 season, where he’ll be competing with Campos Racing. The Campos team, based in Spain, has become a notable presence in the F3 grid and will provide Tsolov with a competitive environment to continue his development. Tsolov will be driving alongside Mari Boya and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, both of whom bring their own experience and skills to the team, creating a well-rounded lineup for Campos Racing in the upcoming season.

Red Bull’s addition of Tsolov to their Junior Team reflects their strategic approach to talent development. By nurturing young drivers across various formulas, Red Bull aims to secure a strong foundation of future contenders for its top teams. Tsolov’s signing reinforces their commitment to identifying and developing promising talent from a young age, potentially setting the stage for him to rise through the ranks within the Red Bull system.

With Red Bull’s extensive resources and support network behind him, Tsolov will have an opportunity to prove himself further in Formula 3, with the possibility of moving up to higher categories if he continues to perform well. For Red Bull, the investment in Tsolov signifies yet another step in building a formidable lineup of drivers who could potentially make their way to Formula 1 in the future.
