Red Bull Confirms Max Verstappen Race Ban After Hi…read more.

Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that Max Verstappen will serve a one-race suspension after reaching the maximum number of penalty points allowed by the FIA. This means he will miss the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The suspension follows a clash with Mercedes driver George Russell during the Spanish Grand Prix, which resulted in Verstappen receiving three penalty points. This brought his total to 12 points within a year — the amount that triggers an automatic race ban under Formula 1 rules.

Red Bull responded with a public statement acknowledging the FIA’s decision and expressing disappointment over losing their top driver at this critical stage of the season.

“While we accept the FIA’s ruling, we are disappointed to be without Max for such an important race,” the team said. “We’re focused on returning stronger.”

Red Bull is now deciding who will replace Verstappen for the race. Liam Lawson is the most likely substitute, though the team has not made a final announcement.

The timing is tough for Verstappen, who is currently chasing McLaren’s Oscar Piastri in the drivers’ standings. Missing a race could make it harder for him to defend his title.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized that all drivers must follow the rules, stating that the penalty system exists to promote safety and fairness across the sport.

While some fans agree with the decision, others feel it is too strict. Either way, the British Grand Prix will go ahead without one of Formula 1’s biggest names on the grid.
