Red Bull Partners With $8 Billion Company Ahead of 2025 F1 Season
Red Bull Racing has announced an exciting new partnership with LEGO ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season, marking a significant collaboration between two iconic brands. LEGO, valued at nearly $8 billion in 2024, will work with Red Bull to create a special model of the RB20, the car that helped Max Verstappen secure his fourth Formula 1 world championship. This partnership is set to allow fans to engage with Formula 1 in a unique way, giving them the opportunity to build their very own Red Bull RB20 using LEGO bricks.
The collaboration is part of LEGO’s Technic series, a line of advanced and detailed models that focus on realistic mechanics and engineering. The LEGO version of the Red Bull RB20 will be more than just a simple toy; it’s designed to reflect the precise craftsmanship and technical innovation behind the real car. The model will measure over 55 cm in length and will include a range of lifelike features, making it a collector’s item for fans of both LEGO and Red Bull Racing.
Among the standout features of this LEGO set are its functional 2-speed gearbox, a moving V6 engine complete with rotating pistons, and a spinning MGU-H unit. These mechanical details are designed to mimic the real-life components of the RB20, offering builders a hands-on experience that captures the essence of Formula 1 engineering. The model will also feature the official Red Bull team livery and Pirelli-printed tires, adding to its realism.
LEGO has a rich history of working within motorsport, particularly in Formula 1. The company has previously developed F1-themed sets featuring various teams and tracks, further expanding its reach in the motorsport community. By partnering with Red Bull, LEGO continues to build on its reputation as the world’s leading toy brand by value.
Olly Hughes, Chief Marketing Officer of Red Bull Racing, expressed the team’s enthusiasm for this new collaboration. “We are always looking for the perfect build here at Oracle Red Bull Racing, so it made sense to shape a new relationship with the LEGO Group,” Hughes said. He added, “We have been listening to our fans, and they have been crying out for this partnership, so we are delighted to see the pieces finally fall into place for 2025.”
The partnership between Red Bull and LEGO was formalized in December 2024 and comes at a time of significant change for the Formula 1 team. Red Bull recently ended a sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency firm Bybit, which had been worth $150 million over the course of three years. However, the team has moved swiftly to establish new partnerships with companies such as AvaTrade, an online trading broker, and Neat, a video conferencing company.
This new collaboration with LEGO is expected to appeal to fans of both brands, especially those who appreciate the blend of creativity and precision that both LEGO and Red Bull Racing represent. Hughes highlighted this, stating, “The LEGO Technic Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car will combine precision and fun, which is exactly the Red Bull way and feels like the perfect fit for the Team.”
The LEGO Technic Red Bull RB20 set is scheduled for release on March 1, 2025. It will be available worldwide and is expected to be a hit with collectors and F1 fans alike.
In addition to this exciting partnership, Red Bull Racing is expected to announce more collaborations in the lead-up to the 2025 season. The team will reveal their new car livery and other potential sponsorships during an official launch event at London’s O2 Arena in February 2025, further building anticipation for the new season.
