Red Bull Replaces Max Verstappen for Canadian Grand Prix Following FIA Eight-Ra…read more

In a dramatic turn of events ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing has officially announced that Max Verstappen will not be taking part in this weekend’s race. The decision follows a surprise ruling from the FIA enforcing an eight-race suspension clause, which has sparked intense debate throughout the F1 community.

The FIA’s ruling stems from an internal regulation breach dating back to earlier this season, details of which remain partially confidential. Sources close to the FIA suggest the issue involved a technical compliance review, with Verstappen’s car allegedly running outside the legal parameters in more than one race. As a result, the governing body enacted a rarely enforced clause that mandates an eight-race exclusion.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner released a brief statement:
“We respect the FIA’s authority and although we strongly disagree with the interpretation and severity of the ruling, we will comply fully. Our focus now shifts to maximizing performance under these challenging circumstances.”

In Verstappen’s absence, Red Bull has confirmed that reserve driver Liam Lawson will step in for the Canadian GP. Lawson, who impressed during his substitute stints last season, now finds himself with a massive opportunity — and an even bigger spotlight.

FIA representatives have declined to provide additional comments, stating only that a full explanation will be included in the race steward’s report post-GP.

This shocking development throws the championship battle into chaos, as Verstappen currently leads the drivers’ standings. More updates to follow as the story unfolds.
