Red Bull team DEMOTED after FIA confirmation o…read more

Red Bull Racing has faced a setback following the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, despite a resounding victory by Max Verstappen. The FIA officially confirmed the updated 2024 F1 standings, revealing Red Bull’s demotion in what has been a turbulent season for the team.

In Sao Paulo, Verstappen broke an eleven-race victory drought in spectacular fashion. Starting from an unexpected P17 after issues in qualifying and an engine penalty imposed by the FIA, the 27-year-old delivered a breathtaking drive through the field to claim his first win in months. Verstappen’s commanding performance reminded fans and competitors alike of his immense talent and determination. His reaction on the podium was one of genuine joy, a rare display of emotion that underscored the importance of this victory for both him and the team.

The win was much-needed for Red Bull, who have struggled to maintain their once-dominant form throughout the season. This year’s campaign has seen an unusual number of challenges, and Verstappen’s win in Brazil marked a return to competitive form for the team, albeit with some lingering setbacks.

In the championship standings, Verstappen now holds a comfortable lead over his closest rival, Lando Norris. The McLaren driver, who has been Verstappen’s main challenger this season, now finds himself trailing by 62 points, significantly reducing his hopes of claiming the title. The sizable gap makes the possibility of McLaren’s “double title dream”—winning both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships—appear increasingly unlikely as the season nears its end.

Charles Leclerc, who currently sits in third place in the championship, has seen his title hopes dwindle after a challenging weekend for Ferrari. The Scuderia struggled to find competitive pace at Interlagos, and Leclerc’s performance fell short of what was needed to close the gap on the leaders. Although Ferrari have shown improvements this season, their chances of mounting a serious title challenge now appear slim.

For Red Bull, the Brazilian Grand Prix offered a glimmer of hope in an otherwise challenging season. However, the FIA’s latest standings announcement has confirmed that the team’s troubles are far from over. The team now faces an uphill battle to close out the season on a high note, with a focus on maintaining their competitiveness amid stiff opposition from McLaren and Ferrari. As the season winds down, Red Bull will look to build on Verstappen’s standout performance in Brazil, hoping to secure further strong results in the remaining races.
