Verstappen Red Bull REPLACEMENT revealed as 2025 axe confirmed

Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 champion, has been assigned a new role within the Red Bull Racing team as part of a driver lineup shake-up for the 2025 season. The Dutch driver, who has firmly established himself as one of the most talented and dominant figures in F1, will be joined by a new teammate, Liam Lawson, for the upcoming season. This change was officially confirmed through a release on the team’s social media platforms.

While Verstappen’s racing duties for the 2025 season continue to be the main focus, the recent announcement also reveals that the 26-year-old will take on an additional responsibility. Red Bull has tapped into Verstappen’s passion for sim racing, where he has been actively competing in virtual racing events throughout January. His skills in this area have earned him recognition, but it was his involvement in a unique collaboration with England Cricket that showcased his new role.

In a video shared on Red Bull Racing’s YouTube channel, Verstappen was seen coaching a group of England cricketers, including Issy Wong, Reece Topley, and Will Jacks, who were trying their hand at sim racing. The cricketers were racing on the Baku F1 circuit, a notoriously challenging street circuit known for its tight corners and high-speed straights. Verstappen, who is an avid sim racer, demonstrated his expertise by giving them tips and showing them how it’s done. He provided guidance from the sidelines, offering advice on how to tackle the tricky track.

As part of the session, Verstappen delivered a stern warning about the Baku street circuit, telling the cricketers, “Honestly, they gave us one of the most difficult tracks on the calendar.” His experience and understanding of the track’s nuances came through as he helped the cricketers improve their lap times. The trio of cricketers gave their best efforts, with Will Jacks topping the leaderboard with a lap time of 1:44.

This initiative marks a unique blending of Verstappen’s racing expertise with his involvement in other sports, and it highlights Red Bull’s strategy of leveraging the driver’s talents outside of traditional F1 duties. The collaboration between Verstappen and the England Cricket team also serves as a lighthearted way to engage fans and showcase the versatility of both the athlete and the team.

As the 2025 Formula 1 season draws near, fans are eager to see how Verstappen will perform alongside his new teammate, Lawson, while also embracing this expanded role. Whether on the track or in the virtual world, Verstappen’s impact continues to grow, and it’s clear that his relationship with Red Bull is evolving in exciting ways.
