We Have Sat Together”: Max Verstappen Admits to Holding…read more

Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula One champion, recently confirmed that he and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff have had discussions regarding a potential move to the Mercedes team, particularly in light of Lewis Hamilton’s impending switch to Ferrari in 2025. The talks took place during the Miami Grand Prix in May, where Verstappen’s entourage met with Wolff to explore the possibility of Verstappen replacing Hamilton.

Verstappen, however, emphasized that he never took these discussions seriously and was clear with Wolff that he had no intentions of leaving Red Bull Racing at that time. “You always talk to each other, and I’m not lying that we sat together. That’s not a problem in itself,” Verstappen stated, indicating that while conversations between teams are commonplace, they did not signify a serious consideration on his part to switch teams.

Despite the discussions, it appears that both parties moved on
