BREAKING: Yuki Tsunoda BREAKS Silence After S…read more

Yuki Tsunoda has shared his first public reaction after being promoted to Red Bull’s senior Formula 1 team, replacing Liam Lawson just two races into the 2025 season.

Tsunoda will make his highly anticipated debut for Red Bull at his home race, the Japanese Grand Prix, where he joins three-time world champion Max Verstappen as his new teammate. The 24-year-old becomes Verstappen’s fifth teammate since 2018, stepping up after more than four seasons with Racing Bulls (formerly AlphaTauri).

Initially overlooked for the Red Bull seat in favor of Lawson, Tsunoda now gets his long-awaited opportunity following a strong start to the season. Meanwhile, Lawson will return to Racing Bulls for the remainder of the year.

In a farewell message shared by Racing Bulls, Tsunoda thanked the team and its fans:

“Hey guys, Yuki here! I just want to say a huge thank you to the team and the incredible VCARB fans for an amazing journey and so many unforgettable memories. I’m still part of the Red Bull family, so I won’t be far. See you around the paddock!”

Later, in another video wearing his new Red Bull Racing gear, he added:

“I’m really excited to race in my home Grand Prix with Red Bull Racing.”

Racing Bulls Congratulate Tsunoda

Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies expressed pride in Tsunoda’s promotion, highlighting his rapid progress.

“We’re incredibly proud of Yuki for earning his well-deserved move to Oracle Red Bull Racing! His development last year, and especially at the start of 2025, has been outstanding,” Mekies said. “It has been a privilege to watch him grow, both in Faenza and Milton Keynes.”

He also acknowledged Tsunoda’s positive impact on the team, adding:

“Yuki’s energy and enthusiasm have brought so much to our factories and the garage. He will always be a Racing Bull, and we wish him all the success he deserves at ORBR.”

As Lawson steps into Tsunoda’s former seat, Mekies expressed confidence in his abilities.
“Everyone at VCARB is eager to support Liam and provide him with the best conditions to showcase his talent. He fit in seamlessly last year, and we’re excited to challenge ourselves and grow as a team.”
With Tsunoda now part of Red Bull’s top team, all eyes will be on Suzuka as he makes his debut for the reigning Constructors’ Champions in front of his home crowd.
