Ben Godfrey, a defender for Everton who has played just three times this season, is supposedly being targeted by AC Milan.

Since Sean Dyche took over at Everton, the 25-year-old center back has not played much for the club; Godfrey’s last game for Everton was in mid-December.

Despite this, Godfrey has drawn unusually strong transfer interest; reports suggest Newcastle United is keen to capture the former Norwich City star.

Furthermore, CalcioMercato reports that Godfrey, whom Everton is willing to sell for a low price in January, is being watched by Milan, the big Italian team.

Godfrey could potentially depart Everton this month if a good deal were made for the defender, while Leeds United has also been identified as an interested party.

However, there’s little doubting that Godfrey would find Milan enticing, especially given the success that fellow countrymen Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are enjoying at the San Siro.

Having been capped by England at the senior level and a mainstay for Everton before to Dyche’s arrival, Godfrey is undoubtedly a gifted defender.

A transfer to Italy might be just what Godfrey needs to restart his career, as Milan is now interested in signing the Goodison Park defender.

As previously noted, the Rossoneri have given new life to the careers of Loftus-Cheek and Tomori. If the defender is able to sign a contract with Milan in January, Godfrey may experience a similar metamorphosis.
