Breaking:Daniel Ricciardo shares confident take on Cadillac’s F1…Read more

Daniel Ricciardo has weighed in on Cadillac’s highly anticipated return to Formula 1, expressing confidence in the American brand’s potential to make a serious impact. As the sport prepares for a wave of changes ahead of the 2026 season—including new engine regulations and team entries—Ricciardo’s comments come at a time when F1’s future is rapidly evolving.

Cadillac, in partnership with Andretti Global, has been pushing to enter F1 as a new constructor. While the FIA approved their bid in 2023, they are still awaiting final approval from Formula One Management (FOM). If greenlit, the team is expected to debut in 2026, aligning with the next generation of F1 power units and sustainability-focused rules.

Speaking to media during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, Ricciardo said, “I think it’s good for the sport. More manufacturers, especially a brand like Cadillac, bring value. If they’re committed, they’ll get up to speed.” He added that competition from new entrants could push current teams to raise their game, making for more exciting battles on track.

Ricciardo, who has seen the rise and fall of several teams over his F1 career, said he believes the Cadillac-Andretti alliance could “surprise people” if given the chance. “They’ve got the resources and the racing background. It’s just about getting the time and space to grow.”

With Liberty Media pushing for greater global appeal—especially in the U.S.—Cadillac’s entry could also help expand F1’s fanbase. However, concerns remain among existing teams over revenue sharing and competitive balance.

As the sport braces for 2026’s sweeping changes, all eyes are on whether Cadillac will be allowed to join—and if Ricciardo’s confidence will be proven right on the grid.
