Ferrari’s home race at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix turned into a nightmare as both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were eliminated in Q2 during a chaotic qualifying session at Imola. Hamilton, in his first Italian Grand Prix with Ferrari, qualified 12th, just behind teammate Leclerc in 11th, marking a significant disappointment for the Scuderia in front of their passionate tifosi. The session was marred by multiple red flags, including a terrifying crash by Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda, whose car flipped at high speed. Fortunately, Tsunoda emerged unscathed. Alpine’s Franco Colapinto also suffered a crash at Tamburello, bringing out another red flag. ([The Sun][3])

Amidst the chaos, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri clinched pole position with a lap time of 1:14.670, narrowly edging out Max Verstappen by 0.034 seconds. George Russell secured third place on the grid for Mercedes. ([The Guardian][4])

Ferrari’s struggles were compounded by ongoing issues with braking performance, described by Hamilton as a problem he had “never faced” before. The team’s failure to advance either car into Q3 adds pressure as they seek to improve their performance in Sunday’s race.([PlanetF1][5], [talkSPORT][2])
