F1 Results Today: Lewis Hamilton Launches Stellar Comeback as McLaren B…read more

Lewis Hamilton rolled back the years with a thrilling performance at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, climbing from 12th on the grid to finish fourth, as Ferrari delighted home fans and McLaren’s bid for victory fell short at the legendary Imola circuit.

While the race was ultimately won by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen—who seized the lead from Oscar Piastri at the first corner and never looked back—it was Hamilton’s dramatic charge through the field that stole the show. The seven-time world champion executed a flawless strategy and decisive overtakes, including late-race moves on Alex Albon and teammate Charles Leclerc, to record his best result since joining Ferrari.

“I just gave it everything today,” said Hamilton. “The support from the Tifosi was unbelievable, and to bring home this result for Ferrari, at Imola of all places, means a lot.”

McLaren, who locked out the front row in qualifying, saw their hopes of a one-two finish dashed. Lando Norris salvaged second place after passing Piastri midway through the race, but Piastri, despite his strong start, had to settle for third following a tyre strategy that didn’t quite pay off.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc ended sixth after struggling with tyre degradation, while George Russell brought his Mercedes home in seventh. Williams had an impressive showing, with Alex Albon finishing fifth and Carlos Sainz in eighth. Red Bull’s junior team also claimed points, with Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda rounding out the top ten.
