Ferrari to Launch Lewis Hamilton Investigation After …read more
Ferrari is set to launch an internal investigation into Lewis Hamilton’s recent dip in performance following a disappointing result at the Spanish Grand Prix, where the seven-time world champion finished a distant sixth — well behind teammate Charles Leclerc, who secured a podium.
The underwhelming finish has raised alarm bells in Maranello, especially as Hamilton’s adaptation to the SF-25 continues to lag behind expectations. Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur confirmed that the team is reviewing telemetry data and car setup choices to determine the root cause of Hamilton’s struggles, which he himself called one of the “worst races” he’s experienced in terms of car balance.
Sources inside Ferrari suggest the investigation will focus on potential setup miscalculations, suspension issues, and whether recent technical updates may have unintentionally compromised Hamilton’s driving style. There is also growing speculation about a possible mechanical fault that may have emerged late in the race.
While Vasseur insisted there is no internal friction between Hamilton and the team, the lack of communication during the race — due to safety car procedures — did little to ease tensions.
Hamilton’s season with Ferrari started with promise, including a sprint victory in China, but has since been plagued by inconsistency and mechanical gremlins, including a disqualification earlier in the season due to excessive floor wear.
Ferrari is now under pressure to deliver answers and improvements fast, with their 2025 title ambitions hanging in the balance. The team remains adamant that their focus is still on the current season, and both drivers will receive the full backing necessary to turn things around.
As the F1 season heats up, all eyes will be on Hamilton and Ferrari to see whether this investigation sparks a resurgence — or further deepens the crisis.
