The FIA has released its official verdict on the incident involving Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen during the Monaco Grand Prix, confirming that no further action will be taken against the Mercedes driver.
The incident occurred on Lap [X] when Hamilton and Verstappen made contact while battling for position through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. The clash prompted an immediate review by the race stewards, who investigated whether Hamilton was at fault for forcing Verstappen off the racing line.
After reviewing video footage, telemetry data, and team radio communications, the stewards concluded that the incident was a “racing incident” and did not warrant a penalty.
In an official statement, the FIA said: “Having considered all relevant evidence, the stewards determined that neither driver was wholly or predominantly to blame. As such, no further action will be taken.”
The verdict ensures Hamilton retains his finishing position, while Verstappen’s result also stands unchanged. The decision avoids any major shake-up in the championship standings as the season heads into its next round.
Both teams have acknowledged the ruling, with Mercedes expressing relief and Red Bull signaling their intent to move forward without appeal.
